This fingerboard is a Ultra-Light Solid version of the original solid aerospace-inspired fingerboard, Ollie the Octoboard.
In contrast to the regular solid aluminum metal deck the this Ultra-Light version has a reduced thickness to yield a 30% weight reduction to 11 grams instead of the 16g of the regular solid aluminum deck.
The deck is still strong enough to resist bending or deformation with a reasonable margin of safety.
This specialized version has machined grip, where a grip texture is cnc machined directly onto the top surface of the deck. There is no need to apply grip tape since the surface is specifically designed to
provide comparable grip as grip-tape.
The machined grip yields a reduced deck weight of an additional 10% to around 9 grams.
The deck profile and shape are the same as the other Ollie series decks.
I 3D CNC machine these decks out of solid 6061 aluminum plates, then manually texture the surface by either sandblasting or polish them. Changing the surface finish yields a different finish color tone after anodizing.
I then use a 60W Laser to lasercut the matching product box - all made in-house!

Type II anodize
Aluminum Metal - 6061-T6
Mk1 - The Mark 1 variant is the first generation of our fingerboards.
Mk2 - The Mark 2 variant has added countersinks to fit trucks where the kingpin protrude on the back side without requiring modifications to the trucks.
Mk3 - The Mark 3 variant has optimized hole sizeing and spacing to work more easy with all trucks.
Mk4 - The Mark 4 variant is same as Mk3 but deeper recess for trucks king pin.
Deck Only
Bottom of deck is engraved with the Octocnc logo.
The final anodize color may vary between batches depending on numerous factors such as material finish,
amount and age of the dye used, time the part is left in the anodization tank, etc.
-Machined finish (Mill finish) is the natural surface finish as it comes directly from the cnc machine giving it a unique look. This finish will slightly show the machining/tool-path lines and might include minor aberrations.
